Hollon "DJ Bigg H" Yarborough, owner of AMP'D ENTERTAINMENT, started officially DJing in 1998, but the roots of that path actually started long before.
That eclectic taste has served him well. While in college in NC, when a local DJ needed coverage for a vacation, Bigg H's girl suggested they give him a shot.
"After two nights of spinning, they just told the old DJ not to come back. I kind of felt bad, but they were really into what I was doing and I was excited to get a shot."
Bigg H immediately took to DJing and his eclectic sets soon became popular throughout NC. Weddings, house parties, and private events soon followed along with some notable club gigs. After starting up an Old-School Hip-Hop night that quickly became the biggest thing in town, Bigg H soon grew tired of being "the big fish in the little pond." A relocation to Atlanta was soon in order and he's been wrecking the ATL scene ever since.
Since moving to ATL in 2003, Bigg H has DJed countless venues and events in Atlanta. Retaining his eclectic sensibilities, Bigg H combines his own production, party classics, and Indie favorites into DJ sets that are widely regarded as some of the most creative and entertaining in town. Although he is comfortable playing any style, Bigg H specializes in remixes and mash-ups — many of which he makes himself. His original mashups and remixes have been featured on countless blogs and music forums and are even played on the radio in several countries! Mash Up Your Bootz even featured Bigg H on their Top 20 artists to watch in their 100th mashup sampler release titled: "The Future". But it's never been about fame or prestige. Bigg H has always been focused on how to maximize his live performances and he uses these techniques to seamlessly blend various genres and decades into a nonstop mix that is spontaneous and creative but remains familiar and accessible.
Bringing this approach to AMP'D ENTERTAINMENT was the birth of our REMIX'D EVENTS concept.
"It was something I had been doing for years and we finally just put a name on it and refined it. Now we're bringing something to our market that's never been seen or heard before and we're dedicated to changing the way people view traditional DJ entertainment."
